So, I got in my Tardis, took my iPod fresh with some Lupin Crook and travelled back to 1970. Then magically was able to Scrobble it back to last.fm

\x0aWhen I look back over all of the things that I’ve done in 2009, helping to get this EP out into the world is one of the things that I’m most pleased with. It’s something that has blurred the distinctions between my creative output, my social life, my professional skills and my interest in health and wellbeing, to an extent that I’ve never managed to achieve before. If you’re interested in checking it out, I’d love to hear your feedback, either here or over on the band’s website.

\x0a We would like every single human being on this planet to a least have the chance to experience what we are doing. Whether people like it or loathe it is a different matter; that has to be their decision. The website has provided us with a place to keep up continual communications with our audience. It also gives strangers to our band the opportunity to visit, to see what we have done and what we are currently doing. Over the last year it has brought focus to the band. Because it is so easily accessible by both ourselves and others, a sense of community has begun to develop. The vision for this website came from family member Hg, and all credit to him, because he has provided a platform through which the entire family can express themselves. It is a place where ideas can be seen to develop, and so it is the perfect breeding ground for realising ourselves.\x0a

“She’s not going to win [the] fight [over downloads],” Stone said. “None of us will win that fight. So let’s just accept it and see it as something that can be beautiful and might change music for the better. It might sort the weeds from the flowers.”

\x0a 16, almost 17 years later, we’re still struggling with content sniffing, and it’s still a source of crazy security vulnerabilities. And you can trace that all the way back, 17 years, through the Great Browser Wars, all the way back to February 25, 1993, when Marc Andreessen offhandedly remarked, “MIME, someday, maybe,” and then shipped his code anyway.\x0a

\x0a It looks like the way forward for music is going to be diverse, mobile, personal, niche, fun, cheap and shareable. I’m sure Live Nation will keep putting on stadium gigs for people who really want to see them - U2’s fanbase still has a decade or so before they’re too old to make it up the steps at Wembley - but the life of the average musician is no longer destined to be a series of debasements and indentures at the hands of record labels promising the earth but delivering precious little.\x0a

\x0a After what can only be described as a sustained break of a little over a hundred years, the first FA Cup winners return to action this Sunday. That’s right, the Wanderers are coming out to play again, lining up against Oxford University Old Boys this Sunday at 2.30pm at Iffley Rd (Free entry!) in order to raise funds for Unicef\x0a

\x0a Vauban in Germany is one of the largest car-free neighbourhoods in Europe, home to more than 5,000 people. If you live in the district, you are required to confirm once a year that you do not own a car – or, if you do own one, you must buy a space in a multi-storey car park on the edge of the district. One space was initially provided for every two households, but car ownership has fallen over time, and many of these spaces are now empty\x0a
